Work-related injuries

Under Florida law, if you were injured at work, your employer's insurance company will require you to see a doctor that they have chosen. However, you as the injured party have the right to hire an independent medical professional to perform an Independent Medical Examination or IME. An IME can be ordered by you to get a second opinion if your employer's chosen worker's compensation doctor has treated you and declared you are at Maximum Medical Improvement or MMI with no impairment, or to dispute the employer's carrier-appointed doctor's opinions.
